Everywhere Sky Arts Guitar Star

This is my 1st round audition for the 1st Series Sky TV's Guitar Star 2015. It is my arrangement of Christine McVie's from Fleetwood Mac tune Everywhere. It was a great experience and proably why Huey from the Fun Loving Criminals Started to call me Mosquito man! I recorded a new version of this for the 1st track for my Departure EP

Rodrigo y Gabriella Mentoring Session

This video is taken from the acoustic round of Guitar Star, we had to learn a track from Rodrigo y Gabriella's new album. I chose Misty Moses, I slowed it down from the original and put my own stamp on it. Rodrigo liked my version told be they will have to learn my version to. Was such a thrill meeting such talented musicians! My version can be found on my 1st release

Slipstream - Live at Milbank Studios

This is one of my own competitions and a live favourite. I wrote this at a time I had been listening a lot to a South African singer called Johnny Clegg. A lot of the percussive fills are inspired by the percussionists on his records. The main influence though is Van Morrison. I love the way he takes a really simple idea and plays with it – it’s naïve and esoteric at the same time. The title comes from the opening lines of his song Astral Weeks – “If I ventured through the Slipstream, between the viaducts of your dream” . Tuning (DAEF#AE) It's Track 2 on my new EP Departure.
